e9 AB Sequence
Basic AB Sequencing
To start off, we needed to get our shot sizes, and make a variety of cuts to make our film faster-paced or intriguing. I decided to think of each of the six shot sizes and what would pair best with our ideas, and later shared them throughout our group and assignment. After that was decided, it was time to determine what sequence would go where, and how we would follow the 180 degree rule. The sequence of events is shown in the video, and how we trie to keep an organized video is through the camera location. We also added in an obstacle, in this case an acting hall monitor, to give an element of sudden suspense.
From Planning to Filming
In the beginning of this project, our group originally had a completely different idea involving a hall monitor, but it started to become a chase scene instead of the assigned AB sequenced video. So when we ran through a new idea, it came to life only when we pressed the record button. We knew we wanted our obstacle or antagonist to be a hall monitor, but how to portray it in was our main question. Location was vital to the product, the time of introduction was needed, and how to act completely necessary. A final decision came to the protagonist realizing the issue, and ducking behind an obstruction. That's where the suspense begins, how to get caught was an all around new issue. we decided on a pencil, a very important role that changed the sequence. The rest fell into place as we progressed after that.
Shooting our Scenes
We followed our storyboard, but on a more basic scale. The first half of the video portrays the shots that we wanted off the original idea. The second half is something we more or less threw together on the spot. Continuity became a sudden issue when we needed a hall monitor and a subject in the beginning scene, as well as a student that was occupying the monitor. With the three person group, we made one of us a duplicate to save time filming and to reduce conflicts or confusion between us.
In Conclusion
We all shared our ideas and came up with a product. Through the given time we discussed different angles and routes for video subjects to take. All of us worked about the same to come up with the product seen, and each scene had been completely agreed upon by the entirety of the group.
